Andrew Herbert Ph.D. is a structural biologist and biophysicist at the University of Edinburgh.

Andy has published extensively on the topic of complement regulation and the mechanisms used by pathogens to evade complement and is currently leading a project to develop anti-thrombotic and anti-inflammatory coatings for invasive medical devices. He has extensive experience in structural biology, biophysical characterization, protein-protein interactions, and protein expression and purification. Andy earned his undergraduate honors degree in biochemistry from the University of Aberdeen and his doctorate in structural biology from the University of Edinburgh.
